Margaret is a User Experience and Product Designer in Vancouver, B.C.
Margaret is an adventurer at heart. Her curiosity for adventure and her exposure to nature have allowed her to appreciate the simple things in life—minimalism at its best. Yet what makes her curious and appreciative—whether organic or man-made—has honed her ability to understand people at a deep, emotional level. Without a doubt, empathy is and will continue to be one of Margaret’s greatest assets.
Whether it’s being a mother of a 1-year-old or taking 2 weeks to ascend Mt. Everest’s North base camp, Margaret has faced several life-altering challenges that would only encourage her to try harder. Ever since her teenage years, she’s wanted to help others by understanding and solving mysteries/problems people encounter in order to improve their lives, so she naturally chose an academic path towards Criminology—but soon realized that this social science field lacked an element she cannot live without: creative design.
Going from understanding criminals to understanding product users was natural for her since both require research, understanding human behavior, and finding solutions to help with the problem. This diverse background has enabled her to design experiences with different perspectives and goals.
Today, Margaret finds herself at the intersection of empathy, design, and discovery. She hopes to embark on a challenging yet rewarding journey as she embraces user and product design using her 5 years of experience in multiple industries.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I love traveling, road cycling, singing my heart out, chilling with my Pomeranian, munching on delicious food, sipping fine wine, and most importantly spending time with my family.
